The story behind the creation of Grim Dawn is just as compelling as the game itself very few companies are ever able to pull off what the team did at Crate under Arthur’s leadership. Spending the next remaining months fixing bugs and making quality of life enhancements, they released the game in February, 2016. Chapter 3 was complete in February of 2015, and by December of 2015, Act 4 and the announcement the game, now feature complete, was made. The first four classes were released in October of 2014 (Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist and Nightblade). Alpha began through the Steam early access system in May of 2013 (which I participated in). With the new capital, they were able to hire new staff members including programmers to make core adjustments to the game engine. With only a handful of people, he licensed the Titan Quest engine in 2009 and began work on Grim Dawn – without any programmers!
